How to Recover Deleted Contacts from Sony Xperia

By Emily Watson, Thursday, June 11, 2015

How many phone numbers are included in your contact list of your smartphone such as Sony Xperia Z3? I guess it should be a big number. And it will become more and more as your social circle expands. Well, have you ever imagine if you lose all of them? What can you do to recover deleted contacts from Sony Xperia Z5/Z3, XZ1, XZ1 Compact, XZ Premium?

As for me, my answer is FonePaw Android Data Recovery. Although data recovery is a daunting process, FonePaw Android Data Recovery simplifies it. Just sit at home. Start by downloading a Windows version on your PC. And then with few clicks, the program will help your restore the phone number, contact's name, and email address that you lose. Without shipping your device to the store, you can restore deleted Sony contacts you need.

How to Effectively Get Back Deleted Contacts from Sony Xperia

Once you find your contacts nowhere, stop using the phone. Don't add any new contacts to the list or edit it. If not, deleted phone numbers will be possible to be overwritten. That is, you cannot get back the data.

Step 1. Connect Sony Xperia Z3 to PC

Start FonePaw Android Data Recovery. Then link your Sony phone to the USB port.

Step 2. Turn on USB Debugging on Android Phone

If you have open USB debugging before, the program will automatically detect your phone. If not, go to your phone and open the USB cable. Enter "Settings" < Click "About Phone" < Tap "Build number" for several times until you get the prompt saying "You are under developer mode" < Back to "Settings" < Click "Developer options" < Check "USB debugging".

Step 5. Preview and Retrieve Lost Contacts on Sony

Choose "Contacts" from the left side. The program allows you to preview the scanned result including names, phone numbers, etc. After that, one click on "Recover", they will be restored, exported, and saved to the computer.

Hello. I successfully got to step 4. However with regard to privilege there is no drop down window or anything which allows to me authorize. I am trying to recover contacts from a Sony Xperia Z3. The contacts just disappeared from my phone. Fonepaw successfully analyses, but then I am told I need privilege, and when I click continue I am taken to the page about how to root general etc. This something about which I know zero. Which should I choose, Genius or iroot? Following the advice in the Root General article, I started trying to back up my Xperia, with Sony Companion, and it is still working away. Not sure whether anything is indeed happening. Question is, do I proceed with installing either iroot or genius? Am I likely to cause other problems. Man this is complicated in the extreme!!! Any help you can offer? I am currently on the trial version of Fonepaw. If I could be sure to get the contacts log back, I would be more than happy to purchase it.
