How to Backup iPhone/iPad Camera Roll to Computer

By Emily Watson, Monday, Sept 19,2016

I want to back up the photos of Camera roll from my iPhone to PC. I don’t know how to do. And there are also part of them I can find in My Photo Stream. I got pretty confused. Please help!

There are two albums on your iOS device: Camera Roll and My Photo Stream. Sometimes people are confused about what is the difference between the two albums. Actually, Camera Roll shows photos you have taken with your device, or photos you have saved to your device from text messages, emails or websites. And My Photo Stream, which allows you to check your snapshots from other iDevice, keeps the pictures in your iCloud account.

Now I want to show you how to backup Camera Roll to Computer with the help of FonePaw iOS Transfer. It fits almost all the model of iOS device. You can store the backup copy on your PC or Mac. Please download the program and have a try!

Part 1. Backup iPhone/iPad Camera Roll to Computer

Step 1. Download the Software for Window System and Connect iPhone to PC

First of all, please install the program below and run it! Then connect your iPhone or iPad to computer via USB cable. When you see the information like type, capacity and version of your device, it turns out that it has been connected successfully.

Step 2. Select Photos You Need to Backup

Please click "Photos > Camera Roll" and you can see the thumbnails of the photos. If it is not clear to check, you can preview them.

The photos have been sorted out into Camera Roll and Photo Library. We have known that Photos including Panoramas taken with your iPhone Camera would be saved in Camera Roll. But for Photo Library, that are the ones synced from computer, downloaded from Internet.
