How to Turn off Autocorrect on iPhone/iPad
Updated on October 16, 2017: Add some supported phone models.
Autocorrect is a mixed blessing. On one hand, it fixes plenty of words for me and gets it right often. On the other hand, it can very often change the meaning of a word and auto correct slang, acronyms and proper names. Can't live with it anymore? You can turn off auto-correct on your iPhone 7/6s/6/5 within a minute.
Though the process is simple, specific iOS settings are always difficult to find. In this post, we're going to walk you through disabling the auto-correct feature on iPhone, iPad or iPod.
How to Turn off Auto-Correction in iOS 11/10/9
1. Open Settings on iPhone and go to General > Keyboard
2. Find "Auto-Correction" and flip the switch to the OFF side.

Yes now you have done the auto correct off work. During the process, you'll also see a "Check Spelling" option which can show you the misspelled word but it won't automatically change them. You are advised to leave this option ON. You can tap on a world that is misspelling and get suggestions to correct it by yourself.
Of course, some users may need the autocorrecting function back after a while. If you want to have the feature again, just return to Settings > General > Keyboard and switch the "Auto-Correction" option into ON. Auto-correction will be back.
Thus, have you succeeded in turning off autocorrect on iOS? Do you know any auto-correct tips or tricks that can help us get more control of the function? Please leave your comments!
