iPhone or iPad Not Charging? [Fix]

By Lois Green, Sunday, May 08, 2016

"Why won't my iPhone 6 charged? I have it charged all night but I still can't power on my iPhone. Can anyone share your experience on fixing iPhone no charging error?"

In many iPhone forums, iPhone and iPad users complain that they suffered from iPhone/iPad not charging issue. The reason is various so it's very hard to explain with few words. Here I will show you the possible iPhone not charging solutions.

1. Hard Reset your iPhone

Press and hold down both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time > Keep them held down until you see an Apple logo > Let go. Once your iPhone or iPad has rebooted, try plugging it in again. If it starts to charge, you're good. If not, go on to the next solution.

2. Try Charging with Another Charging Cable and iPhone Charger

If the charging cable or charging plug is broken, you can't have your iPhone 6s Plus/6s/6 Plus/6 charged. Try a different iPhone cable to see if it is your charging cable is broken.

Note: You will be recommended to use the original iPhone USB cable and charger because a faulty charger for your iPhone will be overheated. And it will be dangerous.

3. Clean Dust in iPhone Charging Port

When put iPhone in our pocket, some dust, debris, pocket lint and more will get into the charging port and prevent iPhone charging. Try a Q-Tip, toothpick and swab to clean up your iPhone charge port and check.

4. iPhone Damaged and Doesn't Work

It's also possible that our iPhone gets damaged after dropping it onto ground, into water or smashing the screen. In this case, you have to have your iPhone repaired.

If you had an iPhone iPad or iPod that you couldn't charge, and one of the above fixes worked for you, let me know! If something else worked, let me know that as well!
