It is frustrating to deal with an Android phone with broken screen. The phone is not completely dead but with screen cracked/broken, it doesn't response to your taps. Before getting a new phone, you may want to recover data from the screen-broken phone and make a backup. This post will show you two different solutions to back up Android phone with partially broken screen and completely unresponsive screen. You can retrieve photos, videos, contacts, messages, etc. from the broken phone.

To get data off an screen-broken Android phone and make a backup, many users will try to connect the phone to a PC and move photos/videos/files to PC. It seems workable until users find that they need to enable USB debugging on the phone so that the PC can access the phone data. So does it mean that we can not access our phone data when the touch screen is not working?
Not necessarily. With a powerful third-party data recovery tool, it still possible to backup your Android phone even if its touch screen is completely broken. And if you check your phone very carefully, you may find that some parts of your phone screen still response to your taps and you can even manage to back up your Android phone to Google account.
Even though an Android phone screen is badly cracked or shattered, there is still hope that some parts of the phone screen are still working. Before giving up on your broken phone, please make sure that you have tapped every part of the phone screen. If you are lucky, you may find that some parts of the screen still function and allow you to access the phone. If so, try to perform a backup to cloud storage using Google account.
Go to Settings > Backup & Reset.
If you haven't set up a Google account, tap Backup account to add a Google account;
If you have added a Google account on your Android, toggle on Back up my data.
Google's Android Backup Service will back up your photos, contacts, emails, docs, system settings, purchased apps, Chrome browser history of your broken Android phone;
When you get a new Android phone, add your Google account to the phone and it will prompt you to restore the backup.
For Samsung phone with a Samsung account, you can also backup the broken phone to Samsung account.
Go to Apps > Settings > Accounts > Samsung Account > Backup;
Tap Auto back up to automatically back up your call logs, messages, wallpaper, priority senders, spam addresses and filter;
If you have another Samsung phone, add the Samsung account and you can restore the backup to the phone.
Backing up android with broken screen to Google/Samsung account leave out important data that you may need (videos, audios, books, etc.) Moreover, this is not an option for you if your phone screen is completely unresponsive.

Now you have a backup of the screen-broken Android phone on your PC. When you get a new phone, you can move the data to your new phone.
