Why is People Ablum a Good Idea?
Of course you can ignore the People album, but the new feature is really worth a shot because of the following reasons:
Quickly locate photos you are looking for. After you have named people, you can quickly locate the photos of the people on People album or by searching the name of the person in the smart search bar.
Better photo viewing experience. Depending on the number of photos you have, the photos of one person can be created into a video slideshow.
Easy to correct. The technology is not perfect and sometimes the photos are misidentified. But it is very easy to remove photos that are wrongly identified.
Synced over iCloud. In iOS 10.1, faces names can be synced over iCloud, making simpler to organize your memories and photos.

Guide to Name or Rename People
Step 1. Open People Album, choose the people you want to name or rename.
Step 2. If you haven't named the person, tap on "Add Name" on the top and type out the name of the person. As you type, you'll be provided with autocomplete suggestions according to your phone contacts.
Step 3. If you would like rename the person, tap on his/her name and enter the new name.
Guide to Remove People or Faces
Step 1. Choose a person from the People album. Click "Select" on the top right corner.
Step 2. Select the wrong face that doesn't belong to the collection.
Step 3. If you need it, you can tap on "Show Face" to zoom in to have a better look at the face.
Step 4. Tap on the Share button. And select "Not This Person" from the list.
Tip: On 3D Touch-enabled devices such as iPhone 6S/iPhone 7/iPhone 7 Plus, you can also peek on the photo and slide up to get the "Not This Person" button.
Guide to Add New People or Faces
Step 1. Open the People album and click the + icon to add people.
Step 2. If you want to add one single person, tap on the person you want to add and tap "Add".
Step 3. If you want to add a group of people in one collection, choose the people and tap "Merge". On the pop-up message, choose "Merge & Add".
Guide to Hide People or Faces
Step 1. On the People album, choose "Select" on the top.
Step 2. Select the people you want to hide and click "Hide" on the bottom left.
Step 3. The people will be on the hidden area. To view hidden people, click "Show Hidden People".
Guide to Merge Multiple People and Faces Collections
Step 1. Enter the People Album, and tap "Select".
Step 2. Choose the people you want to merge into one collection.
Step 3. Click "Merge" on the bottom right. The multiple collections will be combined into one.
