Here I'm going to introduce how to look for more similar images on websites and also how to search for image duplicates on your iMac/MacBook/Mac Pro/Mac mini.

  • If you want to scan for similar images on your Mac, you can depend on Part 2 and instantly remove duplicates with ease.

Part 1: How to Search for More Similar Images on Web?

If you're in need of collecting similar photos, there are easy-to-use similar image finder online like Google Image and Yandex Image. Both sites can find similar images that are posted on the internet in no time. Here's how to do images advanced search via Google and Yandex.

Approach 1: Find Similar Images via Google

Step 1. Open the Google Images page on Safari.

Step 2. Click the "Camera-like" (Search By Image) icon.

Step 3. On a pop-up window, please switch to "Upload an image".

Step 4. Click "Choose File" and open a photo to start searching for similar images.

Approach 2: Look for Similar Photos through Yandex

Step 1. Go to the Yandex Images page.

Step 2. Click the "Camera-like" (Image Search) icon.

Step 3. On the left, choose "Select a file".

Step 4. Navigate to and select an image to start looking for similar ones.

Part 2: How to Find and Delete Similar Images on Mac?

Step 1. Download MacMaster

To begin with, you should download and install MacMaster on your Mac. Please give it a click on the download button above and get it started. Next, open MacMaster on "Launchpad". Then, go to the "Similar Image Finder" page.

Step 2. Run Similar Image Finder

On the screen, you can select the similar degree to view similar photos, such as 65%, 75%, 85%, and 95%. Then, click on the "Scan" button and start searching for similar photos. It's recommended to select similarity degree of 95%, for the higher similarity degree is, the more accurately similar images would be found. Also, you should choose a path to begin scanning. Please wait until the process completes.

Step 3. Preview Similar Images

After done scanning, similar photos will be displayed on the interface with information including Name, Size, Saved Path, and Date. On the lower right, you can preview similar photos one by one. If you want to delete redundant similar items, please select them and click "Clean".

Note that files that are cleaned by MacMaster will be permanently gone instead of moving to trash.
